Especially pertaining to older facilities; Perfect CC Midwest Concrete Surface Prep Grinding is beneficial in that:
- A better floor flatness is achieved for future topical flooring.
- Better warranties from flooring manufactures- many require new flooring be installed atop a freshly ground concrete surface; not ‘layered’ above old flooring or mastics.
- Better mastic adhesion for new flooring, debonding of flooring can result when new mastics are applied atop old.
- Less flooring installer leveling compounds utilized, joints & cracks being ground to flush allows more seamless transitions. Many high and lows in the concrete are diminished.
- Flooring installer can be transparent in installation costs; a perfectly ground slab provides visual of repairs and accommodations needed to install whereas a floor covered in old flooring or mastics will have questionable extra costs associated due to the hidden delamination’s and needed repairs.
Surface Prep Grinding
Our Concrete grinding services always include connection to high efficiency, hepa filtered 480v dust extraction equipment. No visual airborne dust is existent during our heavy grinding process. Post completion of a surface preparation concrete grinding service, crews fully vacuum the concrete substrate to leave it ready for flooring installers to take over.

*Perfect CC Midwest, inc can perform flooring removal services as a discounted package deal. Perfect CC Midwest also offers floor leveling underlayment pours for necessary flatness specifications.

Heavy Grind
Post Flooring removal (by others or Perfect CC Midwest), our diamond fitted grinding equipment easily removes heavy carpet glues, laminate mastics & hard tile mortars. We than leave the concrete fully ground & vacuumed, ready for future flooring installation by others.
USE: The final concrete condition is left ground & vacuumed- with a texture similar to that of sandpaper. The condition is heavily porous, simply applying an acrylic concrete sealer is not a functional option. Another type of flooring, concrete polishing or epoxy coatings need to be performed/installed to use this floor post grinding.
Grind, Patch, Regrind
Again, the same process as the latter with the addition of patching of cracks, joints & spalls in the concrete. The concrete is than reground leaving flush, smooth repairs in the concrete surface. Post our vacuuming, the concrete is ready for flooring by others.
USE: The final concrete condition is left ground & vacuumed- with a texture similar to that of sandpaper. The condition is heavily porous, simply applying an acrylic concrete sealer is not a functional option. Grind, Hone & Seal (Patching Optional)
The concrete is initially ground to remove flooring mastics, glues & mortars. Patching is performed if requested (recommended). Concrete is than successively honed to remove visible scratch pattern and lessen the porosity of the concrete. Optionally but recommended, a dust proofer known as densifier is applied to further aid in dust proofing the slab.
USE: The final concrete condition is similar to that of newly installed, smooth concrete. Though, stones and fine sands will be visible in the appearance. Dust proofed & smoothed, with a dull appearance- this concrete can be used as final flooring with no need to coat or apply new flooring atop. Most beneficial to leasers and warehousing looking to put vacated buildings back on market.
